Tokarev question

I have had a Tokarev pistol (7.62x25)for alot of years, the other day a freind gave me a broken 9mm Norinco clone (missing parts) anyway I converted the Tokarev to 9mm (using the Norinco Barrel and mag) because of obvious ammo availability. question is, were the standard Russian frames up to the task? or were the Chinese ones better? safety is my main concern. btw it shoots great.

Re: Tokarev question

7.62x25 and 9x19 fall in the same range of chamber pressures. TT-33's have been successfully converted to 9x23 Winchester and it is considerably hotter. There are some things the Russians do very well and small arms is one of them.

Re: Tokarev question

Should be OK as the original 7.62x25 is putting about 50% more foot pounds of energy downrange
